At 4 pm, students of Shaolin Tagou Martial Arts School rushed into the playground to start their “Shaolin Soccer” training after practicing martial arts in Dengfeng city, Central China’s Henan province.

It brings the Stephen Chow film Shaolin Soccer, a hit comedy about a group of monks from Shaolin Temple who form a dynamic soccer team, to real life.

In order to better guide the students, the martial arts school signed three Spanish coaches in Nov 2016, combining foreign soccer skills with Chinese traditional martial arts.

Oriol Pujol Ruiz, 41, a coach, said he was proud to see the students had the potential to play for the European soccer clubs after more than 500 days of rigorous training.
