The 11th China-Japan-Korea Cultural Industry Forum was held in Binhai New District in Tianjin from Oct 19 to 21 with the aim to establish mechanism of cultural industry cooperation, deepen pragmatic cooperation and promote regional stability and regional prosperity.

The forum was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea.

Since its establishment in 2002, the forum has been hosted in turns in the three participating countries.

The three governments participated in "Our IPOOL" plan for the first time this year, which focused on collecting high-quality IP content at home and abroad and constructing an official platform for project incubation and copyright trading endorsed by the government. The plan was created in hopes of furthering cooperation in various cultural genres, including animation, games and internet literature.

Fourteen enterprises from the three countries exhibited their works on animation, comic, game and internet literature. Many IP holders and buyers reached common ground during business discussions in hopes of bringing forward more high-quality cultural products.

Experts from China, Japan and South Korea also discussed IP right protection and IP incubation at the forum. Industry insiders also shared ideas on the market of electronic competitive sports during a discussion on the development of the area

All three parties believed that discussion is the key to proactively implementing the guidelines provided the leaders of the three countries, and that communication and negotiation are key mechanisms to realize further goals of cooperation as a whole, especially among governments and industries.
