2018 Mountain Hard China to Start in Xichuan

The 2018 Mountain Hard Race will be held in Xichuan county, Nanyang from Nov 24 to 25, with thousands of cross-country runners from around the world joining in.

So far a total of 1,000 contestants from 13 countries, including France, Germany, Britain, Switzerland, Canada, the United States, Nepal and Kenya, have signed up for the competition.

Mountain Hard China 2018 Xichuan Danjiang Lake International Cross-country Race is based on La Montagn'Hard, Europe's famous cross-country race. Xichuan is the first station of Mountain Hard China and the race is the first international competition themed on sport, tourism, and poverty alleviation.

The race is sponsored by Xichuan county people's government, Nanyang sports bureau, Nanyang tourism bureau and the French organizing committee of La Montagn'Hard. The 100-kilometer group registered the largest number of applicants, accounting for about 31 percent of the total. Local players from Xichuan accounted for about 20 percent of the total registered contestants.

Xichuan county is the core water source and canal head site of the south-to-north water diversion project, which guarantees clear water to more than 20 cities along the route. Danjiang Lake is the center of Danjiangkou reservoir and is a national wetland reserve. The race track connects Funiu mountain with Danjiang Lake.

The cross-country race will start at Wafang village, Shengwan town, Xichuan county, Nanyang, Henan province.
