A group of members from China's top political advisory body reviewed the changes during the 40-year reform and opening-up when visiting the exhibition on the great reform on Tuesday.

The large-scale exhibition at the National Museum of China in Beijing welcomed 501 members of National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, who were recalled their memories of the previous four decades.

"I am quite happy to see the two stamps, which show two agricultural heritages, displayed at the exhibition," said Min Qingwen, CPPCC National Committee member and an agricultural researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has worked on researching Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems in China for 13 years.

The two agricultural heritages on stamps issued by China Post are Longsheng Longji Terraces in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and Xinghua Duotian Agrosystem in East China's Jiangsu province, both of which were named as Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

"The two heritages, which have a long history, indicate that ancient agriculture culture can be so advanced and benefit not only the local economy but also the ecological environment and tourism," he said.

"But we didn't realize their importance until our economy developed to a certain level during the reform and opening-up in the 1990s," Min said. "We should use the valuable heritages our ancestors left and benefit villages and ecology nowadays."

Zhang Kaili, member of CPPCC National Committee and a famous actress, said she was grateful for the great change that resulted from the reform and opening-up.

"During the 40-year reform, our film and television industry developed dramatically, in terms of the understanding of film and TV creation, and film shooting equipment," she said.

She became well-known after playing in a TV series, Ke Wang, or Yearning, in 1990, which became wildly popular nationwide.

"That was a historic TV series in China, which had 50 episodes, much more than ever before," Zhang said. "Our crew utilized dramatic camera shoot ideas and methods of Japanese TV series, and that's been a benefit from the opening-up,"she said.
