Satellite Application to Boost Sanmenxia's Development

The second China-EU Conference on Satellite Remote Sensing Applications, or the Sanmenxia Satellite Applications Conference, took place in Shanzhou district on Oct 25 and 26. The city of Sanmenxia was dubbed the first "satellite application demonstration city" at the conference.

Focusing on remote sensing satellites and their applications in agriculture, forestry, hydraulic engineering, prospecting, ecological environment and smart cities, the participating experts and scholars had an in-depth academic discussion and conducted field research to help the demonstration project be put into force in Sanmenxia.

At the conference, the government of Sanmenxia and the Alliance of Satellite Application Services of China signed a framework agreement on how to create a satellite application demonstration city. The agreement will accelerate the upgrading of the industrial transformation of the city, laying a solid foundation for future developments.

Over the past few years, Shanzhou district has grasped every new opportunity to vigorously cultivate and develop the big data industry and will provide strong support for the construction of the demonstration city, as well as favorable policies for enterprises intending to take root in the district.
