Nanyang Readies Its Roses for World Convention

The rose park in Nanyang, Henan province began construction on Feb 11, the first working day after Spring Festival, in order to finish in time for the upcoming 2019 World Federation of Rose Societies (WFRS) Regional Convention.

The 2019 WFRS Regional Convention will be held from Apr 27 to May 2 in Nanyang city. The rose park's three separate areas have nearly completed construction and decoration work. The gallery frame, landscape pavilion and electric bike stop are being built in an efficient manner.

Workers are busy at the construction site and some have even sacrificed part of their holidays to stay on schedule and make sure everything is in proper order. They felt content because they knew their work would not be in vain.

Nanyang has a 2,000-year history of rose cultivation and its city flower is the rose. The city is known as a paradise of roses due to its traditional rose culture and gorgeous rose scenery.

There are currently 19 city exhibition sites under construction, including Nanyang Park,13 sites for Nanyang and its counties to displayand five sites for other cities. Nanyang Rose Park aims to display new varieties of rose and promote cultural exchanges. It takes advantage of Nanyang's unique landscape and rich rose culture to offer an ideal spot for rose lovers. The park has a variety of special gardens, exhibition gardens, and themed gardens.
