A National Flag Made from Cherries in Liaoning Province

Dalian University of Science and Technology students made a seven-meter-long and 4.7-meter-wide "five-starred red flag" with nearly 500 kilograms of cherries in Dalian, Liaoning province.

The students got to know cherry grower Yan Chuanhong, from the rural area of Lushunkou district, when doing volunteer work.

After learning that the 74-year-old had a dream of going to the flag-raising ceremony in Beijing's Tiananmen Square, but that he felt too old to make such a long journey, the students made this special flag for him.

Dalian is a famous cherry-growing area in China. Tourists are expected to enjoy delicious cherries in Dalian till mid-July.
