Foreign Disciples Visit Shaolin Temple for Pilgrimage, Singing “Shaolin, Shaolin” in Russian

 

“少林少林，有多少英雄豪杰都来把你敬仰;少林少林，有多少神奇故事到处把你传扬;精湛的武艺举世无双，少林寺威震四方……”经典的歌曲《少林少林》人们耳熟能详，但你听过俄语版吗?

“Shaolin, Shaolin, how many heroes have come to admire you. Shaolin, Shaolin, how many wonderful stories everywhere to preach you. Superb martial arts are matchless. Shaolin is famous in the world...” The classic song “Shaolin, Shaolin” is popular in China, but have you ever heard its Russian version?

 

7月9日上午，归山朝圣的美国洛杉矶少林文化中心、俄罗斯少林文化中心弟子，在少林寺方丈室前展演学习成果，现场俄罗斯弟子演唱了俄语版《少林少林》，吸引众多游客驻足欣赏。

On the morning of July 9, the disciples, coming from Shaolin Cultural Center, Los Angeles, USA, and Russian Shaolin Cultural Center, visited Shaolin Temple for pilgrimage and presented their achievements of Kungfu in front of the Abbot Hall. The Russian disciples also sang the classic song “Shaolin, Shaolin” in Russian, attracting many tourists.

 

现场，中美俄少林弟子交流学习，现场气氛欢乐，和谐融洽。俄罗斯弟子展示了少林气功、套路、器械，跳起欢快的民族舞蹈，美国弟子高歌“少林寺我的家，就像明灯指引我前行”唱出对少林的敬仰与崇拜。

Shaolin Kungfu monk corps, together with Shaolin overseas disciples, demonstrated Shaolin Kungfu and exchanged and interacted with each other. The Russian disciples presented Shaolin qigong (qigong, a system of deep breathing exercises), routines (a series of skills and trick in Wushu, martial arts), weapon techniques and their national dance, while the American disciples expressed their admiration and worship for Shaolin Temple by singing “Shaolin is my home, just like a beacon guiding me forward.”

 

在听完俄语版《少林少林》后，少林寺方丈释永信高兴地说：“看到你们表演很高兴，你们的少林功夫基础扎实，美妙的舞蹈歌声也把我们带到了你们的国度，《少林少林》的作曲家王立平先生前不久到访少林，我专程为他介绍，我们的弟子将他的歌曲翻译成为不同版本，王立平先生还有遗憾没能听到外语版本，今天的演唱视频一定能弥补王立平先生的遗憾。”

After listening to the Russian version of “Shaolin, Shaolin”, Shaolin Abbot Shi Yongxin said happily, “I’m glad to see your performance. You have a solid foundation in Shaolin Kungfu, and your wonderful dancing and singing have brought us to your country. Mr. Wang Liping, the composer of “Shaolin, Shaolin”, visited Shaolin  Temple recently. I told him that our disciples have translated his song into different versions, but he felt sorry that he could not hear the foreign language version at that time. I believe today’s singing video must make up for his regret.” 

 

释永信表示，少林寺是有着不同国家弟子组成的大家庭，每年都有来自各国的少林弟子在这里学习交流，我们所倡导的健康生活方式，为世界人民的健康做出贡献。（记者张丛博 通讯员岳龙 编译赵汉青）
