The forum on the traditional Chinese medicine industry development and talent training took place in Nanyang, North China’s Henan province, on October 28.

A health forum and the Zhang Zhongjing Chinese medicine culture festival opened the same day.

Aiming to expand the influence of traditional Chinese medicine internationally, the forum strives to train more traditional Chinese medicine talents, boost further exchanges in the medical and pharmaceutical industries between China and foreign countries, as well as promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine around the world.

At the Zhang Zhongjing Chinese medicine culture festival, more than 200 guests, experts and scholars, with incomparable admiration, paid tribute to Zhang Zhongjing at his temple.

Tang Zuxuan, a famous doctor of Chinese medicine, and Li Junde, deputy director of the China Association of Chinese Medicine, as well as other guests, paid homage to the sages of TCM.

Zhang Zhongjing (AD 150 - 215), whose formal name was Zhang Jing, was a Chinese pharmacologist, physician, inventor, and writer of the Eastern Han dynasty and one of the most eminent Chinese physicians during the later years of the Han dynasty. Zhang, the Sage of Traditional Chinese Medicine, established the principle of treatment based on syndrome differentiation. This principle is the fundamental principle and soul of TCM.

The Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council have issued a guideline to improve the development of traditional Chinese medicine.

This forum aims to fully implement the guideline to bolster TCM, carry forward Zhang Zhongjing's academic thinking, promote the Zhongjing brand and enhance international exchanges and cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine.

Under the guideline, TCM will play fully to its advantages in treatment of diseases, and establish its own approaches to treatment. The unique role of traditional Chinese medicine in disease prevention and treatment will come into full play.

TCM is expected to see remarkable accomplishments and make important world-wide contributions to people's health.
