4 Counties of Henan Win National Ecological Honor

河南省四县（市）获生态文明建设殊荣

News from Henan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment on November 22 shows that 4 counties (county-level cities) of our province were awarded the national ecological honor. Among them, Xinxian county was listed among the third group of Practice and Innovation Base of “Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains Are Invaluable Assets” while Lankao and Biyang counties were among the third group of China’s Demonstration Cities & Counties for Ecological Civilization Construction.

11月22日，记者从河南省生态环境厅获悉，河南省4个县（市）获生态文明建设殊荣。其中，新县入选第三批“绿水青山就是金山银山”实践创新基地，新密市、兰考县、泌阳县入选第三批国家生态文明建设示范市县。

With the acceleration of ecological civilization construction in recent years and the popularity of “China’s Demonstration Cities & Counties for Ecological Civilization Construction” title, Henan has gradually attached great importance to the ecological civilization construction and achieved much progress. In 2017, Luanchuan county was listed among the first group of China’s Demonstration Cities & Counties for Ecological Civilization Construction. In 2018, Xinxian county was included in the second group of China’s Demonstration Cities & Counties for Ecological Civilization Construction while Luanchuan county was among the second group of Practice and Innovation Base of “Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains Are Invaluable Assets”.

近年来，随着生态文明建设加快推进，“国家生态文明建设示范市县”这一金字招牌开始备受追捧，我省各地生态文明示范建设逐步升温。2017年，栾川县入选第一批国家生态文明建设示范市县。2018年，新县入选第二批国家生态文明建设示范市县，栾川县入选第二批“绿水青山就是金山银山”实践创新基地。

“The construction of ecological demonstration cities & counties is not under the mandatory assessment of the government, but the local governments at all levels in Henan province have recognized its importance and urgency.” Zhai Yunfei, secretary general of Henan Ecological Civilization Promotion Association, said that the construction of ecological demonstration cities & counties can effectively transform the production mode and life style to realize high-quality development.

“生态文明示范建设并不是政府硬性考核项目，但各地已经认识到其重要性、紧迫性。”河南省生态文明建设促进会秘书长翟云飞认为，通过生态文明示范建设，能有效促进生产方式和生活方式转变，促进高质量发展。（记者赵力文 编译赵汉青 审校张玉红）
