Henan Sends the First 33 TCM Staff to Aid Epidemic Control in Hubei

河南派出首批中医队伍！国家（河南）支援湖北中医医疗队33人出征

On the morning of February 10, a launch ceremony was held at the Health Commission of Henan Province for the first batch of 33 TCM professionals’ trip to Hubei, which became the first TCM medical team sent at the request of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the sixth batch of medical professionals dispatched by Central China’s Henan Province in aiding the anti-epidemic campaign in Hubei.

2月10日上午，国家（河南）支援湖北中医医疗队出征仪式在河南省卫生健康委举行，33名医疗队队员将奔赴湖北。这是河南省应国家中医药管理局要求，派出的首批中医医疗队，也是河南支援湖北的第六批医疗队员。

The TCM professionals will play an active role in helping fight the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic in Hubei. According to Zheng Fuzeng, head of China (Henan) TCM Medical Team and deputy director of Henan Hospital of TCM, thousands of years’ experience in fighting against diseases indicates that TCM has lots of experience in the field of plague and epidemic and plays a significant role in early intervention, so the team will make full use of it in the anti-epidemic campaign.

抗击疫情，中医人奋勇争先。国家（河南）中医医疗队队长、河南省中医院副院长郑福增介绍，中医几千年来和疾病斗争的经验已经说明，中医在抵抗瘟疫方面有很多丰富的经验，中医药在早期干预方面有重要作用，希望能够在这场疫情阻击战中充分发挥中医药的重要作用。

As the sixth batch of medical team and the first TCM medical team sent to Hubei, the TCM medical team is composed of professionals from the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of TCM, Henan Hospital of TCM and the Third Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of TCM, covering Department of Pneumology, ICU, EICU and Department of Infection Control, together with a professional from the Department of Hospital Infection Control.

本次出征的医疗队是河南支援湖北第六批医疗队，也是首批中医医疗队，医疗队成员由河南中医药大学第一附属医院、河南省中医院、河南中医药大学第三附属医院组成，涉及呼吸科、重症医学科、急诊重症科、感染管理科等，还配备一名院感医生。

It is reported that the TCM medical team was organized at the request of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and under the management of the Medical Team for Joint Prevention and Control of the National Health Commission.

据了解，这一批医疗队应国家中医药管理局要求组建，纳入国家卫生健康委联防联控援助医疗队进行管理。（记者张黎光 郑良子 编译赵汉青 审校白玉杰）
