Two-way Mail Service between Zhengzhou and Europe Launched

中欧班列(郑州)国际运邮通道双向贯通


15 months later, at 15:00 on February 28, the first China-Europe freight train exclusively for mail delivery service returned from Europe and finally arrived at CRIntermodal Zhengzhou Terminal after the first regular mail train from Zhengzhou to Europe departed on November 20, 2018, marking a success of the pilot route for mail delivery service between China and Europe. Entrusted by the central government, this route was specifically undertaken by Henan’s international freight trains.

大河网讯 2月28日15时,中欧班列(郑州)首趟进口运邮班列顺利抵达中铁联集郑州中心站。这是继2018年11月20日中欧班列(郑州)国际运邮去程常态化之后,时隔15个月,迎来的首趟进口运邮班列,这标志着河南担负国家赋予的中欧班列唯一进口运邮试点线路全线贯通。

The arrival of the first China-Europe freight train carrying international mails indicates that China Railway Express between Zhengzhou and Europe for mail delivery service has been successfully launched. Since then, the international mails of Central China can enjoy the convenience of China Railway Express to reach Europe directly and vice versa, which is of great significance for Henan to strengthen its advantages of opening-up platform, build Zhengzhou into an international mail hub, innovate China Railway Express between Zhengzhou and Europe and enrich the value of the “Land Silk Road”.

中欧班列(郑州)首趟进口运邮班列虽“姗姗来迟”,但意味着河南省国际邮件陆路往返运输通道全部打通,实现中部省份国际邮件利用中欧班列直达欧洲、欧洲邮件直达河南的供应链闭环,这对河南提升开放通道和开放平台优势,打造郑州国际邮件枢纽口岸,推进中欧班列(郑州)创新发展,丰富“陆上丝绸之路”建设内涵具有重要意义。


It is reported that it was the 83rd trip (2,843rd trip in total) of the China Railway Express between Zhengzhou and Europe this year. Departing from Hamburg of Germany, this train was loaded with 6,896 pieces of international mails, all of which were import petty commodities, including wearable smart devices, small domestic appliances, children products, etc.

据介绍,这是中欧班列(郑州)今年的第83班班列,也是总第2843班班列。此趟进口运邮班列从德国汉堡发出,搭载6896件进口邮件,均为进口小商品,包括穿戴式智能设备、小型家用电器、儿童用品等。

With the advantages of delivering wide range of products, frequent trips, fixed schedules, few prohibited and restricted commodities, all-weather operation and being more secure and efficient than intermodal transport, the China-Europe Express for international mails will save about one-third logistics costs compared to air freight and solve the problem that some 3C products cannot be transported by air and are too slow if transported by sea, satisfying different customers’ needs.

中欧班列运邮班列具有覆盖范围广、运行数量多、开行时间固定、禁限寄种类少和不受天气限制、时效性远高于水陆联运等特点,兼具时效性与安全性优势,物流成本比空运的价格便宜约三分之一,同时解决了部分3C产品航空无法运输、海运时效过慢的困境,能更好地满足不同客户需求。


According to Zhao Wenming, general manager of Zhengzhou International Hub Development and Construction Co., Ltd, after the regular operation of China Railway Express between Zhengzhou and Europe for mail delivery service, with Zhengzhou’s advantages in location and transport, China’s international mails to Europe and Central Asia can be collected and distributed in Zhengzhou while the mails from Europe and Central Asia like Germany, France and Poland can also be distributed to the rest of China in Zhengzhou, which helped to gradually form an international freight channel exclusively for mail delivery service between Central China and Eurasia. In future, with the regular operation of two-way mail service between Zhengzhou and Europe, it is estimated that the annual delivery volume will reach more than 100 million pieces, about 50 thousand tons.

郑州国际陆港公司总经理赵文明告诉记者,中欧班列(郑州)国际运邮班列往返常态化开行后,可发挥郑州区位交通优势,通过双向运邮,将全国出口欧洲、中亚等方向的国际邮件在郑州集疏,同时将德国、法国、波兰等欧亚国家的进境邮件经郑州分拨全国,稳定形成华中与欧亚地区铁路邮件运输通道。下一阶段,随着中欧班列(郑州)进出双向运邮业务全面展开,初步预计年运邮量可达5万吨、1亿多件。(记者王延辉 编译赵汉青 审校白玉洁)
