“Zhengzhou-Los Angeles” E-commerce Air Freight Route: A New Channel of the Silk Road in the Air

Recently, a new regular e-commerce air freight route was launched in Central China's Henan province. At 12:00 noon of June 9, a Boeing 747-400 cargo flight operated by Kalitta Air took off from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport to Los Angeles, USA, marking a successful launch of the new e-commerce cargo air route connecting the two cities, which is helpful to meet the growing demand for international air freight capacity.

大河网讯 河南跨境电商专线包机再辟新航线。6月9日12时，一架来自卡利塔航空的波音747-400飞机从郑州新郑国际机场满载启航，飞往美国洛杉矶。这标志着河南跨境电商包机“郑州—洛杉矶”航线正式开通，持续满足日益增长的国际航空货运新需求。

On April 8, the e-commerce air freight route between Zhengzhou and Liege, Henan’s first chartered flight exclusive to cross-border e-commerce service, was successfully launched. Over the past two months from spring to summer, Henan’s chartered flight for cross-border e-commerce service has achieved more breakthroughs. The 4 intercontinental air routes have reached 11 flights per week, which forms a network of international air freight connecting three continents.

4月8日，河南首班跨境电商出口专线包机——“郑州—列日”跨境电商出口专线包机正式启航。从春到夏，两个月的时间内，河南跨境电商包机业务不断刷新“成绩单”，已先后开通4条洲际航线，实现每周11班高频飞行，形成了“一点连三洲”的跨境电商航空国际货运网络。

 

At present, the chartered flight operated by EHL International Logistics Services Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Henan Bonded Logistics Center, has linked central Chinese city of Zhengzhou with Liege of Belgium, New York and Los Angeles of America via 4 air routes. So far by now, the 4 air routes have output more than 60 flights in total with goods from over 30 European and American countries, created more than 1,000 jobs, saved over 10 million yuan of logistics costs for nearly 350 cross-border e-commerce enterprises, and maintained a strong growth momentum for Henan’s cross-border e-commerce export even during the COVID-19 pandemic. The chartered flight service also promotes the cross-border e-commerce, as a new business form, to develop into a stable status and achieved a global extension of China-made and China-brand products to “go global”.

记者了解到，目前，由河南保税集团子公司中大门国际物流服务有限公司运营的跨境电商包机已开通了郑州至比利时列日、美国纽约、美国洛杉矶三地的4条航线，累计飞行60余班，产品覆盖欧美30余国，创造就业岗位1000余个，为近350家跨境企业节约物流成本数千万元，带动了河南跨境电商出口实现逆势增长。在货运包机服务的支持下，跨境电商作为新兴业态得到了稳定的发展，中国制造、中国品牌实现了全球化业务拓展。

 

This year's government work report clearly proposed to accelerate the development of new business form, such as the cross-border e-commerce, so as to enhance the international freight capacity. By promoting coordinated development among the “Four Silk Roads” (i.e. Silk Road in the Air, Silk Road by Land, Maritime Silk Road and Online Silk Road), Henan strives to enhance its hub-oriented economy and advantages in air freight. Besides, with the development of the “Online Silk Road” innovation and the “Silk Road in the Air” and “Silk Road by Land” collaboration, etc., Henan’s international freight capacity and efficiency have been enhanced to serve the import-export enterprises and export-oriented economy.

今年政府工作报告明确提出要加快跨境电商等新业态发展，提升国际货运能力。河南着力推动“四路协同”，全面提升枢纽经济能级和开放通道优势，创新发展跨境电商“网上丝绸之路”，融合联动“空中丝路”“陆上丝路”等，提升国际运力，提高空运时效，切实服务广大进出口企业和外向型经济发展。

 

It is introduced that the newly-opened e-commerce air freight route between Zhengzhou and Los Angeles is scheduled for 3 flights a week. In addition, EHL International Logistics Services Co., Ltd will keep expanding its cross-border e-commerce business. At present, the company is qualified to transport dangerous goods by air, and will gradually acquire other qualifications in the future to carry magnetic goods, machinery and equipment, cosmetics, chemicals, and charged products, so as to accelerate the form of international logistics network, further promote Henan’s cross-border e-commerce enterprises to “buy global and sell global”, consolidate and strengthen Zhengzhou’s position as an international aviation hub, and immerse new impetus to Henan’s high-quality development.

据介绍，此次开通的“郑州—洛杉矶”跨境电商包机每周计划开行3班。此外，中大门国际物流公司将持续拓展跨境电商“出海”业务，目前该公司已具备了危险品运输资质，未来还将逐步开通跨境电商带磁类商品、机械设备类商品、化妆品类商品、化工品类商品、带电类商品的航空运输，加快国际物流网络布局，进一步推动河南跨境电商跑出“买全球卖全球”加速度，巩固和提升郑州国际航空枢纽地位，为促进河南高质量发展注入新动力。（中文/河南日报 记者/王延辉 翻译/赵汉青 实习生/朱清远 审校/焦丹）
