Passenger and Freight Scale of Zhengzhou Airport Leads the Central Region in H1

News from Henan Airport Group on July 24 -- Despite the global economic shocks brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, Zhengzhou Airport’s freight transport still experienced a strong growth momentum and its passenger services also continued to recover in the first half of 2020, securing its leading position concerning both the passenger and freight scale in Central China.

7月24日，记者从河南机场集团获悉，今年上半年，郑州机场实现货运逆势增长、客运恢复喜人，客货运规模继续保持中部地区“双第一”。

From January to June, Zhengzhou Airport has totally completed 255.1 thousand tons of cargo throughput with a year-on-year increase of 21.45 percent, ranking the 1st among China’s large-scale airports in terms of growth rate. Specifically, the cargo volume contributed by international markets and all-cargo flights respectively saw a year-on-year increase of over 40 percent. Meanwhile, ranking the 4th among China’s large-scale airports in terms of growth rate, its passenger throughput reached 8.011 million, and its national ranking jumped to the 11th. At present, both the passenger and the flight volumes have recovered to about 80 percent of the same period last year on a daily basis, showing a rapid recovery and development trend.

今年1至6月份，郑州机场完成货邮吞吐量25.51万吨，同比增长21.45%，增速位居全国大型机场首位，其中国际地区货量、全货机货量均同比增长超40%；完成旅客吞吐量801.1万人次，全国排名提升至11名，增速位居全国大型机场第4名。目前，郑州机场日均航班量和旅客量都已恢复至去年同期的80%以上，呈现出快速恢复发展态势。

 

During the pandemic, the global air freight demand continued to soar affected by multiple factors. With the soft strength accumulated over the years, Henan Airport Group has firmly seized the development opportunities and given full play to the advantage of the “Silk Road in the Air” to vigorously extend its airline networks. Up to now, it has newly introduced 8 all-cargo airlines, and 21 cargo airlines converted from passenger ones, opened 17 air routes and added 20 destinations. Now, there are 29 cargo airlines operating in Zhengzhou with 50 air routes and 62 destinations.

疫情期间，受多重因素影响，国际航空货运需求旺盛。河南机场集团凭借多年积累的软实力，紧抓蕴含的发展机遇，充分发挥“空中丝绸之路”的通道优势，大力拓展枢纽航线网络，新引进8家全货运航空公司、21家客改货航空公司，新开17条航线，新增20个通航城市。目前，在郑运营货运航空公司29家、航线50条、通航城市62个。

Due to the surge of international chartered cargo freights and routes, the existing terminals could not meet such a demand. To solve this problem, Zhengzhou Airport has timely optimized the existing terminals, strengthened the processes, built large numbers of supporting facilities such as vehicle storage pool, and established new models for cargo loading and unloading, so as to accelerate the construction of its international freight channel.

由于国际货运包机和货运航线的猛增，多个货站持续处于满仓状态，郑州机场及时优化货站资源，改进保障流程，建设蓄车池等配套设施，探索货物组板、装卸等保障新模式，郑州机场国际货运大通道进入快速提速期。（中文来源/河南日报 编译/赵汉青 审校/白玉杰）
