Henan Finishes Harvest on 90% of Autumn Grain Area and Starts Wheat Planting

河南秋收已过九成 麦播陆续展开

News from Henan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on October 9 showed that by 5 pm that day, 10,660 mu (1 mu equals to 0.067 hectares) of autumn crops have been harvested across the province, accounting for 91.1 percent of the total planting area. Meanwhile, 5.32 million mu of wheat have been newly planted in the province’s north, west and east areas.

10月9日，记者从省农业农村厅获悉，截至当日17时，我省秋作物已收获10660万亩，占播种面积的91.1%，麦播在豫北、豫西、豫东等地陆续开始，全省已播种小麦532万亩。

During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, the autumn harvest and planting were progressing smoothly relying on cool weather at a pace similar to the same period of 2019. By October 9, the autumn harvest across the province has entered the final stage and 10,660 mu (91.1 percent) of autumn crops have been harvested, including 7.56 million mu of rice (81.3 percent of its total planting area) and 5.54 million mu of soybeans (94.1 percent of its total planting area). Corn and peanuts have been basically harvested.

国庆中秋长假期间，我省天气以晴好为主，秋收秋种顺利推进，进度与往年基本相当。截至10月9日，全省秋收进入收尾阶段，秋作物已收获10660万亩，占播种面积的91.1%。其中水稻收获756万亩，占播种面积的81.3%；大豆收获554万亩，占播种面积的94.1%。玉米、花生基本收获完毕。

The autumn crops in Zhumadian, Luohe, Nanyang and Zhengzhou have been basically harvested, while 90 percent of the crops in Luoyang, Pingdingshan, Xinxiang, Xuchang, Shangqiu, Xinyang and Zhoukou and 80 percent in Kaifeng, Anyang, Hebi, Jiaozuo, Puyang, Sanmenxia and Jiyuan have already been harvested.

从各地进度看，驻马店、漯河、南阳、郑州基本收获完毕，洛阳、平顶山、新乡、许昌、商丘、信阳、周口过九成，开封、安阳、鹤壁、焦作、濮阳、三门峡、济源过八成。

Around Cold Dew, Henan has gradually started planting wheat. So far, 5.32 million mu of wheat, 6.3 percent of the total planned areas, have been newly planted mainly in Noth Henan (Anyang, Hebi, Xinxiang, Jiaozuo and Puyang), West Henan (Luoyang and Sanmenxia) and East Henan (Shangqiu).

寒露前后，小麦播种陆续开始。目前，全省已播种532万亩，占预计面积的6.3%，主要分布在豫北安阳、鹤壁、新乡、焦作、濮阳，豫西洛阳、三门峡及豫东商丘等地。（中文来源/河南日报 翻译/赵汉青 审校/李文竞）
