Henan-Uruguay Cooperation Opens a New Chapter

豫乌合作开启新篇章

As a significant part of “Uruguay Week” in Henan, the Video Conference on Cooperation between Henan and Uruguay was simultaneously held in Henan and Uruguay on October 20. He Jinping (vice-governor of Henan province) and Fernando Lugris (Uruguayan ambassador to China) attended the conference in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan.

作为河南省“乌拉圭周”的一项重要内容，10月20日，河南省与乌拉圭国际合作视频会在豫乌两地同步举行。副省长何金平、乌拉圭驻华大使费尔南多·卢格里斯在郑州出席会议。

According to He, a series of agreements on sister-city programmes and sports cooperation signed at the conference are bound to boost the economic, trade and cultural exchanges between Henan and Uruguay, and continuously consolidate the public support for the friendship between the two sides. It is suggested to further develop high-level bilateral cooperation and expand its depth and breadth to promote the deep integration of industries and markets. Besides, the two sides should play their respective advantages, consolidate cooperation in such traditional fields as agriculture and agricultural products, and seek new cooperation in cross-border e-commerce, “exchange of agricultural machinery for soybeans”, new crop planting, etc. At the same time, the bilateral exchanges in such areas as tourism, sports, literature and art should be strengthened to build Henan-Uruguay cooperation into an example of cooperation between China and Latin American countries.

何金平表示，本次会议上签署的一系列友城建设、体育合作等领域的友好协议，将推动双方经贸文化交流，不断夯实豫乌友好的民意基础。建议进一步发展高水平的豫乌合作，拓展合作深度和广度，促进两地产业和市场深度融合，发挥各自优势，巩固农业、农产品等传统领域合作，并在跨境电商、“农机换大豆”、绿豆等新生作物种植等领域开展新的合作。同时，加强在旅游、体育、文学艺术等人文领域交流，将豫乌合作打造成我国与拉美国家合作的样板和典范。

Fernando Lugris remarked that an in-depth understanding of Henan is of great significance to the promotion of China-Uruguay strategic partnership since Henan is an important agricultural and industrial province as well as a transportation hub in China, so he expected more fruitful cooperation projects between the two sides.
