Henan Trade Group Signs 98 Contracts Worth 37.3 Billion Yuan at the 3rd CIIE

The Supply-Demand Matchmaking Conference of Henan Trade Group was held on November 6 at the Third China International Import Expo (the 3rd CIIE) in Shanghai. By now, the enterprises from Henan province have signed 98 contracts with overseas businesses, with a contract value of 37.3 billion yuan, covering high-end equipment manufacturing, crude oil, minerals, medical appliances, consumer goods, etc.

11月6日，第三届中国进博会举行之际，河南省政府举行“河南交易团采购需求发布会现场签约会”。河南商报记者现场获悉，在签约会签约环节，河南企业与境外客商共达成了98个贸易合作合同，总金额373亿元，涵盖了高端装备制造、原油、矿产品、医疗器械、日用消费品等多个领域。

At the conference, Ma Jian, director-general of Henan Provincial Department of Commerce, remarked that, since the reform and opening-up, Henan has always regarded opening-up as an important strategy that concerns the overall situation to follow, taken the initiative to participate in the global economy, actively integrated into the global industrial and supply chains, gradually broken such bottlenecks hindering its opening-up as being away from borders, seas and rivers, and finally found a new path suitable for its provincial conditions towards an open economy.

签约会现场，河南省商务厅厅长马健在致辞时介绍，改革开放以来，河南省始终把对外开放作为事关全局的重要战略持续推进，主动走向世界经济大舞台，积极融入全球产业链、供应链，逐步破解“不沿边、不靠海、不临江”的开放瓶颈，走出了一条适合河南省情的开放型经济发展新路子。

First, foreign trade volume has soared. In 1978, the total import and export value of Henan was about 200 million yuan. It is expected that by the end of 2020, this figure will exceed 600 billion yuan, with an average annual growth of over 20 percent, ranking first in Central China in terms of volume and maintaining top ten in China’s export market.

其一是外贸规模大幅跃升。1978年我省进出口规模约2亿元，预计2020年末全省进出口总值突破6000亿元，年均增长超过20%，规模稳居中部第一，出口保持全国前十。

Second, endogenous power has become stronger. In 2019, there were 8,693 import and export enterprises in Henan. It is estimated that by the end of 2020, the number of enterprises with foreign trade profits, including such leading enterprises as Hongfujin Precision Electronics (Zhengzhou) Co., Ltd.,  Zhengzhou Yutong Group Co., Ltd., China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd., and Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery (Group) Co., Ltd., will reach 9,500 with numbers of foreign trade industrial bases specialized in equipment manufacturing, food, intelligent terminal, new material, motor vehicle and its parts, etc.

二是内生动力更加强劲。2019年全省发生进出口业务企业8693家，预计2020年有实绩企业超9500家，形成了装备制造、食品、智能终端、新材料、汽车及零部件等外贸产业基地和鸿富锦、宇通客车、中铁装备、郑煤机等龙头企业。

Third, market has been expanded. Henan has established trade relations with the vast majority of countries and regions in the world. Its trade with such traditional markets as the United States, South Korea, the European Union, ASEAN, Japan and Hong Kong has contributed over 60 percent to the province’s total import & export volume, and the growth rate of foreign trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative has also been accelerated, far above the provincial average.

三是市场布局持续扩大。河南已与绝大多数国家和地区建立贸易关系，对美国、韩国、欧盟、东盟、日本、香港六大传统市场进出口占全省60%以上；与“一带一路”沿线国家合作潜力持续释放，进出口增速远超全省平均水平。

Fourth, commodity structure has been optimized. With the development of industrial clusters such as intelligent terminals, Henan’s foreign trade structure has been adjusted from relying on such traditional commodities as steel, aluminum and lead in the past to electronic information product, the largest export commodity of Henan. Nearly 300 million smart phones are exported annually, accounting for one-seventh of the total global smart phone shipments.

四是商品结构不断优化。随着智能终端等产业集群发展壮大，河南外贸实现了从长期依赖钢铁铝铅等传统商品向电子信息产品成为第一大出口商品的结构性转变，智能手机年出口近3亿部，出货量占全球的1/7。（中文来源/河南商报 翻译/赵汉青 任晶晶 审校/张玉红）
