Henan to Build Another 27 Provincial Wetland Parks
河南省将新建27处省级湿地公园
Another 27 wetland parks in Central China's Henan Province, including the Shiqilihe River in Zhengzhou's Xinzheng city, the Yuejia Lake in Kaifeng's Tongxu county and the Hongru River in Zhumadian's Xincai county, have passed official appraisal to become the pilot wetland parks at the provincial level, bringing the total number to 63, according to the Forestry Administration of Henan Province on December 31.
记者2020年12月31日从省林业局获悉，新郑市十七里河、通许县岳家湖、新蔡县洪汝河等27处湿地近日获批开展省级湿地公园试点工作。至此，我省省级湿地公园（试点）数量达63处。
The establishment of wetland nature reserves and parks is an important way to protect wetland in Henan. Wetland nature reserves stress protection, while wetland parks can be reasonably used for sightseeing, leisure or scientific, cultural and educational activities on the basis of protection.
设立湿地自然保护区、湿地公园是我省进行湿地保护的重要方式。湿地自然保护区重在保护，湿地公园可以在优先保护的基础上开展合理利用，供公众游览、休闲或进行科学、文化和教育活动。
In recent years, owing to the great efforts made to strengthen the construction and management of wetland nature reserves and parks, the wetland protection area and rate in Henan have been greatly increased. So far, the number of wetland nature reserves and pilot wetland parks at the national and provincial levels have reached 109, and the wetland protection system has basically taken shape. Besides, Henan's wetland protection rate has grown from 37 percent in 2015 to 51.93 percent in 2020, with a protected wetland area of 4.89 million mu (1 mu is equal to 0.067 hectares).
据悉，近年来，我省着力加强湿地自然保护区、湿地公园的建设管理，湿地保护面积和湿地保护率大幅提升。截至目前，全省国家、省级湿地自然保护区和湿地公园（试点）数量达到109个，湿地保护体系基本形成；全省受保护湿地面积达到489万亩，湿地保护率由2015年的37%增长到2020年的51.93%。（中文来源/河南日报 翻译/赵汉青 审校/张玉红）
