Wetland Protection System Basically Taken Shape in Henan Province

受保护湿地面积达492万亩 河南湿地保护体系基本形成

Today (February 2) is the 25th World Wetlands Day. By the end of 2020, Henan's wetland protection rate has grown from 37 percent in 2015 to 52.19 percent in 2020, with a protected wetland area of 4.92 million mu (1 mu is equal to 0.067 hectares), said a source from the Forestry Administration of Henan Province. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, Henan's wetland protection system has basically taken shape with significant breakthroughs made in wetland protection and restoration.

2月2日是第25个世界湿地日。记者从省林业局获悉，截至2020年年底，全省受保护湿地面积达492万亩，湿地保护率由2015年的37%增长到2020年的52.19%。“十三五”成为我省湿地保护工作发展最快、成效最为显著的5年，湿地保护修复取得突破性进展，湿地保护体系基本形成。
