More Jobs Created in First 5 Weeks after 2021 Spring Festival

The start and peak period of spring recruitment came early with more positions available in China's job market this year, Chinanews.com reported on Tuesday.

The number of vacancies available in the first five weeks after the 2021 Spring Festival was 85.5 percent higher than last year, which is equal to that of 2019, according to a report by Zhaopin.com, China's leading human resources service provider.

Some sectors saw a sharp increase in recruitment demand compared with last year, even exceeding that of the same period in 2019, the report said.

The recruitment demand in intermediary services, logistics and warehousing, professional services, and entertainment and leisure sectors witnessed increases of 192.4 percent, 140.5 percent, 67.8 percent and 60.6 percent, respectively, compared with 2019.

In Central China's Wuhan, the number of job openings in five weeks after this year's Spring Festival surged 190.7 percent year-on-year.

Cities in western China took seven spots on the list of top 10 cities in terms of recruitment growth compared with 2019.
