Sales Volume of Retail and Catering Businesses in Henan Exceeds 600 Million Yuan in First 4 Days of May Day Holiday
“五一”前4天河南零售和餐饮销售额超6亿元
From May 1 to 4, the sales volume of 55 retail and catering businesses under key monitoring totaled 604 million yuan, an increase of 35.5 percent and 45 percent compared to the figures of the same period in 2020 and 2019 respectively, according to the Department of Commerce of Henan Province on May 5.
5月5日，记者从河南省商务厅获悉，5月1日至4日，全省假日重点监测的55家零售和餐饮企业实现销售额6.04亿元，较上年同期增长35.5%，较2019年同期增长45%。
Prior to the five-day May Day holiday, Henan carried out a special campaign to promote consumption. More than 600 million yuan was allocated from the provincial and municipal finance departments to subsidize tourists' spending on accommodations, cultural tourism, etc., with coupons provided by the two-level finance departments and discounts by the merchants.
为促进消费，“五一”前夕，河南启动促消费专项行动，省、市财政共拿出超6亿元资金，通过财政出消费券、商家出折扣等方式，对餐饮酒店、文化旅游等领域消费实施引导和补贴。
Since the first day of the holiday, 63 key activities were gradually launched by the commerce departments across the province to actively build platforms for tourists to make consumption while boosting recovery. According to an official source from the Department of Commerce of Henan Province, during the holiday, Henan's tourism sector, especially short-distance self-driving trip, was becoming hot, which directly promoted the popularity of local snacks and agritainment. From May 1 to 4, the sales volume of 15 catering businesses under key monitoring totaled 4.48 million yuan with a year-on-year increase of 97.8 percent.
