During the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties, Nanyang started to cultivate Chinese roses. Later in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, such flowers became popular. And today, Chinese roses have developed into an industry. Nanyang has become the largest breeding base for Chinese rose seedling. So far, Nanyang has cultivated more than 6 thousand varieties of Chinese roses with around 100 thousand people working in this field. Nanyang enjoys the enviable title of "Hometown of Chinese Rose", endowed by the State Forestry Administration and the China Flower Association in 2000. Launched in May 2010, the Nanyang Chinese Rose Culture Festival is formerly known as the Shiqiao Chinese Rose Flower Show. In 2019, the 2019 WFRS Regional Convention was also hosted in Nanyang. In 2020, Nanyang was approved by the World Chinese Rose Federation to host the first World Chinese Rose Expo.

南阳栽培月季始于唐宋，兴于明清，发展于当代，已成为我国最大的月季苗木繁育基地。南阳市月季品种达6000余种，全市有10万人从事月季产业。2000年，南阳市被原国家林业局、中国花卉协会命名为“中国月季之乡”。南阳月季文化节前身为石桥月季花展，始于2010年5月。2019年，南阳还成功举办了2019世界月季洲际大会。2020年，世界月季联合会同意南阳举办首届世界月季博览会。

In history, Kaifeng has accumulated rich experience in cultivating different varieties of chrysanthemums. During the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), chrysanthemum cultivation became hot across the nation. As the capital of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), chrysanthemum cultivation was more prevalent in Kaifeng with higher growing skills. At that time, each and every family took pleasure in cultivating and appreciating chrysanthemums. Chrysanthemums in Kaifeng are of good quality, big flowers, moderate height and pure colors. Chrysanthemum has been designated as the "city flower" of Kaifeng with the China Kaifeng Chrysanthemum Culture Festival held from October 18 to November 18 annually.

开封栽培菊花历史悠久、种植经验丰富、种类繁多，北宋时期，市民养菊蔚然成风。作为大宋王朝的都城，开封的养菊之风更为盛行，形成了较高的栽培技术和优良种植传统，家家户户都以养菊、赏菊为乐事。开封菊花，不但品质优良、花朵肥大、高矮适度，而且色泽纯正。菊花被确定为开封市“市花”，并把每年的10月18日至11月18日定为中国开封菊花文化节会期。

Known as the "Hometown of Peony", Luoyang started to cultivate peonies during the Sui (581-618) Dynasty. Later in the Tang (618-907) Dynasty, such flowers were at the height of great prosperity. And since the Song Dynasty (960-1279), Luoyang has claimed to have the country's best peonies with their luxuriant blossom. During the peony fair held in April annually, Luoyang will attract huge crowds of people for peony appreciation. Launched in 1983, the China Luoyang Peony Culture Festival is formerly known as the Luoyang Peony Fair and has become an intangible cultural heritage at the national level.

洛阳被称为牡丹之乡，其栽培始于隋，鼎盛于唐，宋时甲于天下。洛阳牡丹花朵硕大，品种繁多，花色奇绝，有红、白、粉、黄、紫、蓝、绿、黑及复色9大色系、10种花型、1000多个品种。每年4月有洛阳牡丹花卉，届时洛阳城花海人潮，竞睹牡丹倩姿芳容。中国洛阳牡丹文化节前身为洛阳牡丹花会，已入选国家非物质文化遗产名录，始于1983年，后升格为国家级节会，更名为“中国洛阳牡丹文化节”。（中文来源/顶端新闻 翻译/赵汉青 审校/李文竞）
