A couple in Ningling county, Henan province, was recently verified as the oldest married couple in the world by Carrying the Flag World Records, an organization similar to Guinness.

The aggregate age of the couple with the husband born in June 1902 and the wife in August 1907 was 232 years and 271 days, the certificate read.

The couple have five sons and two daughters, with the oldest child 85 years old and the youngest 56. The big family has more than 100 members in six generations.

The wife is beloved by her neighbors as optimistic, generous and considerate. The husband is funny and has a great sense of humor, they say. Both are currently in good health and like walking together near their home and chatting with their fellow residents.

Ningling has more than 670,000 people, with 115 older than 100 years, according to the county government.
