As a national 4A (China's second highest level) scenic spot, Yuxi Baicao Garden is a special social practice education base for primary and secondary schools in Sanmenxia, Henan province.
Located in the remote mountains of western Henan province, the garden takes advantage of its climate, geography and location. Based on the natural herb storage in Lushi county, the garden combines the planting of traditional Chinese herbs with eco-agricultural sightseeing to develop eco fallow agriculture. The building of an integrative tourist spot that offers sightseeing, recreation, healthcare, touring, and experiencing education is also a culmination of the garden's geography.
Through researching regional folklore, history, culture and local conditions, the garden has gradually constructed six practical education zones including the zone of the 24 solar terms, the zone of exhibition, the zone of Chinese medicine, the zone of eco fallow agriculture and the zone of heritage. These functional zones enable students to appreciate ancient objects, valuable relics, classic books, historical stories, knowledge about Chinese herbal medicine and national intangible cultural heritages of western Henan characteristics. Visiting the Yuxi Baicao Garden, students can improve their observational and operational abilities, harvest more creativity and knowledge for the trip.
