Sanmenxia Reaches Strategic Cooperation with Xi'an

Sanmenxia in Henan province signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xi'an in Shaanxi province on July 3 during a study tour to the city.

At a symposium facilitating cooperation, representatives from the two cities described their economic and social development status and showed willingness to join hands in fields of science, technology, education and tourism. They also had in-depth discussions on promoting exchanges and communication to achieve mutual benefit.

Addressing the symposium, Liu Nanchang, secretary of the Sanmenxia municipal Party committee, said that the two cities are bound to further enhance exchanges in various areas to learn from each other and achieve common development.

Welcoming Liu's visit, Xi'an Mayor Shangguan Jiqing noted that Xi'an and Sanmenxia are geographic neighbors and culturally connected. The agreement is sure to bring about new opportunities for thriving prosperity and reinforce competitiveness between the two cities.

The delegation visited some major scientific research institutes in Xi'an during the visit, and all members were inspired by the advanced state of the city's technological innovation.
