Gansu Students Learn about Yangshao Culture in Henan

Mianchi county in Sanmenxia, known as the birth place of Yangshao culture (5,000 BC to 2,900 BC), is famous for its beautiful pottery designs with animal motifs. Pottery painted with manganese oxide in red or black patterns also vividly depicts Neolithic lifestyles.

As the birthplace of Yangshao culture, Mianchi recently welcomed some Yangshao fans from Gansu Industry Polytechnic College on a study tour. During their stay in the students gained a better understanding of the history of the painted pottery culture.
