The Sanmenxia agricultural bureau has announced that the city's first Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival will kick off at Lingbao city's Sihe Mountain. It will be one of four parallel sessions taking place in Henan province on Sept 23.

Launched by the state for the country's farmers, the festival will fall on the Autumn Equinox, one of the 24 solar terms of the Chinese lunar calendar that usually falls between Sept 22 and 24 during the country's harvest season.

The festival will lay emphasis on strengthening rural work, building a more prosperous society and speeding up the implementation of China's rural revitalization strategy. It will also help to accelerate the development of modern agriculture in the city.

The festival is scheduled as a "1+4+N" event, meaning it will be made up of one home venue, four parallel sessions and several programs. As one of the four venues, Sanmenxia will hold 11 different kinds of activities, including apple picking parties, the first Lingbao Green Development & Rural Revitalization Forum, opportunities to purchase Lingbao apples, unmanned aerial vehicle shows and a National Photography Competition.
