Dazzling Drone Show Celebrates Henan Culture

A performance by 200 drones offered a visual feast for visitors to Central China’s Henan province on Saturday night when the drones took off simultaneously and lined up in shapes of local cultural elements in Happy Ocean Water Park, a scenic spot in Xinmi city.

Local cultural symbols such as a Henan map, Chinese kung fu and oracle bone inscriptions lit up the city sky.

The drones were all controlled by a computer, forming a variety of flexible shapes.

“It is a kind of innovation, because it is much more environmentally friendly than fireworks,” said Cai Qingbo, chairman of Lanjing Innovation, a company which was in charge of the drone show.

The technology has changed people’s lives gradually, and it has also served the development of the cultural tourism industry, he said.

“We took about a 40-minute drive to the scenic spot from Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan. It is really cool to see the drone show with our family. It was also welcomed by many other tourists,” a visitor surnamed Zhou said.
