BEIJING -- Ten foreign photographers have been invited to record Beijing on their cameras, the Beijing Youth Daily reported Thursday.
The event was organized by the Information Office of the Beijing municipal government.
These photographers from 10 countries, including Turkey, Russia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Poland and Greece, will spend 10 days capturing the history, culture and development of Beijing.
They will focus on world heritage, cultural relics, cultural and creative industrial parks, as well as major landmark buildings.
Selected photos of the photographers will be exhibited in populous public areas.
The activity is a cultural exchange program based on the annual event "World Photographers Focusing on Beijing," which has invited over 100 photographers from more than 50 countries and regions to record the capital city since 1999.
In addition to cooperation with foreign embassies in China, this year the event has gained support from the International Federation of Photographic Art and the Photographic Society of America, the newspaper said.
