Mother’s Special Birthday Gift for Daughter in Epidemic Battle

战“疫”归来画深情，她在隔离中手绘连环画送给女儿作礼物

“As it has been almost one month since I last saw my daughter, I planned to record my daily life in the isolation ward in painting as a birthday gift.” On March 23, when Wang Qian, a chief nurse from the Infection Department of Henan Provincial People’s Hospital, was under the medical observation at Zhengzhou Municipal Party School, she drew a comic with 12 “anti-epidemic” pictures named “My Home” to her daughter.

“女儿已经快一个月没见我了，我想把自己生活的日常以及在隔离病房一线的所见所闻画出来，当作生日礼物回家后讲给她听。”3月23日，在郑州市委党校接受医学隔离观察的河南省人民医院感染科主管护师王倩，利用休息时间为女儿创作出了12幅“抗疫”连环画《我的家》。

Composed by the beautiful house, mother in nurse’s uniform, fierce virus, Ultraman’s fighting against virus, etc., the comic was drawn by Wang Qian, storytelling of the changes of her home before and after the epidemic outbreak as well as the science story of the virus. Enlightened by the style of children’s bestsellers, she also made the paintings into a series of three-dimensional one. The various colors in this comic represent different objects, stories and mindsets, where mother’s love embedded.

美丽的房子、穿着护士服的妈妈、凶猛的新冠病毒、战胜病毒的奥特曼……王倩用彩笔将自己家在疫情前后的变化和对新冠病毒的科学认识画下来，还仿照畅销儿童书籍的形式将平面画制作成立体图，不同颜色代表不同的事物，讲述不同的故事，反映出不同的心态，满满的母爱跃然纸上。

Since the epidemic outbreak, Wang Qian immediately signed up to join the Fever Clinic of Public Health Medical Center, the forefront of epidemic prevention and control. “As I have been working at the infection department for a long time, I totally understand what it meant. I’m very confident to take up this mission owing to my rich experience in attending the infectious patients.” Since January 23, Wang Qian has been twice assigned to work at the Fever Clinic of Public Health Medical Center and each assignment lasted one month. Therefore, it is the second time for her to have the medical observation.

疫情发生以来，作为省人民医院感染科护士，王倩第一时间就报了名，要求到医院疫情防控的最前线——公共卫生医学中心发热门诊工作。“感染科本来就是传染病防控救治的主战场，平时我见到这方面的病人也很多了，对护理病人也有经验，我有胜任这次工作的自信。”从1月23日起，王倩前后两次进入公共卫生医学中心发热门诊工作，一走就将近一个月。目前是她接受的第二轮医学隔离观察。

“My colleagues joked me that ‘you are a student of second grade now’ for my second medical isolation experience.” The happiest thing for Wang is that, with the great efforts of them, the patients were all recovered, but another thing worried her most at that time was her daughter.

“结束第二次在隔离病房的工作后，又再次回到隔离点，同事都开玩笑地说‘你都是二年级了’。”在王倩和病区医护人员的共同努力下，患者一个个顺利平稳度过了危险期，这是让她们感到最放心的事，但家里的孩子却让王倩放心不下。

“My daughter was looked after by grandmother in hometown in her first 3 years. Then she was taken back to Zhengzhou at the age of kindergarten. I owed her too much in her growth because I have been too busy with my work. Each time when we had a video chat, she always said ‘Mom, I don’t want to have a video chat with you anymore. I want your hug for sleeping at night’.” Saying that, Wang Qian couldn’t help her tears. “I hope my daughter like this comic because this is for her coming 4-year-old birthday gift.”

“女儿3岁前都是在老家由奶奶照看，盼着盼着该上幼儿园了就接回了郑州，平时工作忙亏欠她太多了。前段又赶上疫情，每次在单位跟她视频的时候，她就说‘妈妈我不想再跟你视频了，我想让你晚上搂着我睡觉’。”说到这儿，王倩瞬间潸然泪下。“等我这次隔离结束，宝贝也快该过4岁生日了，希望这个礼物她能喜欢。”（记者王平 通讯员崔冰心 翻译赵汉青 审校焦丹）
