An evening gala was presented online on Thursday night to celebrate the third Chinese National Costume Day, China Youth Daily reported Friday.
Synchronously livestreamed on Chinese online video sharing platforms including Bilibili and TikTok and social media platforms Sina Weibo and WeChat, the gala featured a finery show, art performances and a cultural demonstration session, the newspaper reported.
The hashtag of "Chinese National Costume Day" logged 1.1 billion views across online platforms in China, it said.
The event, moved online due to the novel coronavirus epidemic, was jointly hosted by the China Youth New Media Association and Bilibili this year, the newspaper said.
Taking place on the third day of the third lunar month, it was voted to be an annual celebration by Internet users and was first observed in 2018.
