Henan Local TCM Herbs to Be Exported via an Online Matching Week

“香港河南网上药材供求对接周”活动启动 河南中药材欲借“港”出海

Henan, one of the largest TCM provinces in China, ranks top in TCM output and planting area. Hong Kong, acting like a bridgehead, plays a significant role in promoting TCM’s global exporting, standardization and modernization. The cooperation between Henan and Hong Kong is bound to promote Henan’s TCM herbs “going global”.

河南是中医药大省，中药材产量、人工栽培种植面积均居全国前列。香港则是中医药国际化的桥头堡，在推动中医药国际化、标准化、现代化进程中发挥着重要作用。豫港两地有效对接，将成为河南中药材出海的有效抓手。

At the launch ceremony of the “Online Matching Week for TCM Supply and Demand between Hong Kong & Henan” hosted by Henan Provincial Department of Commerce on April 21, a number of pharmaceutical enterprises and TCM suppliers locally from Henan negotiated with the enterprises from Hong Kong over the global promotion of Henan’s TCM herbs.

4月21日，河南省商务厅举行“香港河南网上药材供求对接周”活动启动仪式，河南省多个医药企业、中药供应商与港企通过网络开展商贸洽谈，共同推进豫产中药材打入海外市场。

At the event, the enterprises specialized in TCM planting or trading and from the counties or cities famed for high-quality herbs, such as Yuzhou, Lushi, Huixian, Jiyuan and Shangcai in Henan, met with the pharmaceutical enterprises from Hong Kong via a cloud platform, exchanging for supply and demand of TCM products.

当天的活动中，禹州、卢氏、辉县、济源、上蔡等优势中药材县市的中药材种植、贸易企业纷纷上线，与数千里外的香港药企，通过互联网同“聚”在一面电子大屏上进行对接。

The official from Henan Provincial Department of Commerce remarked that, TCM plays a significant role in the fight against the COVID-19. As a province with strong TCM industry, Henan ranks top nationally in TCM output and planting area. As we know that Hong Kong also plays a significant role in promoting TCM’s global export, standardization and modernization, acting like a bridgehead.

河南省商务厅相关负责人表示，在抗击新冠肺炎疫情中，中医药发挥了重要作用。河南是中医药大省，中药材产量、人工栽培种植面积均居全国前列。香港则是中医药国际化的桥头堡，在推动中医药国际化、标准化、现代化进程中发挥着重要作用。

The cooperation between Henan and Hong Kong will definitely help Henan’s TCM herbs “going global”. According to Zhao Weidong, head of Henan Quality Association for Pharmaceuticals, TCM is not only a traditional dominant industry in Henan, but also one of the most dynamic science and technology industries. In 2018, the revenue of pharmaceutical enterprises above Henan designated scale reached 245 billion yuan, up 8.1 percent year-on-year, ranking the third in China and the first among Central China.

豫港两地有效对接，将成为河南中药材出海的有效抓手。河南医药质量管理协会会长赵卫东介绍，中药材是河南省传统优势产业，也是最有活力的科技型产业之一。2018年，河南省规模以上医药企业经营规模达2450亿元，同比增长8.1%，全国排名第三、中部第一。（记者赵振杰 编译赵汉青 审校焦丹）
