Henan Launches a New Intercontinental Regular Air Passenger Route between Zhengzhou and Helsinki

On October 11, a ceremony celebrating the launch of the first direct flight from Zhengzhou to Helsinki was held in Zhengzhou.

Huang Qiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee and executive vice-governor of Henan Province, and Su Hailan, Finnish ambassador to China, attended the ceremony.

The air passenger route between Zhengzhou of China and Helsinki of Finland under the framework of “Henan-Finland Cooperation” is the first new intercontinental one opened by Chinese civil aviation enterprises since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic this year, which is of great significance to strengthen the economic, trade and cultural exchanges between Henan and Finland as well as the Nordic countries for integrating into the “Belt and Road Initiative” , accelerate the building of an inland opening-up highland and establish the “dual circulation” development pattern. At present, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner operated by Juneyao Airlines is scheduled to make 1 flight per week, taking only 9 hours to reach the Finnish capital. On arrival at Helsinki, passengers can easily transfer to the connecting flights to nearly 50 major European cities, such as London, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid, etc.

河南省“豫芬合作”项目——郑州至赫尔辛基定期客运航线，是新冠肺炎疫情后国内航空公司新开通的首条洲际定期客运航线，对加强我省与芬兰及北欧各国的经贸文化往来，助力我省融入“一带一路”，加快打造内陆开放高地，构建双循环新发展格局具有重要意义。目前，该航线初期计划每周执行1班，由吉祥航空旗舰机型波音787梦想客机执飞，旅客搭乘该航班仅需9个小时即可抵达芬兰首都赫尔辛基，可便捷中转至伦敦、巴黎、法兰克福、马德里等近50个欧洲重点城市。

According to Su Hailan, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of China-Finland diplomatic relationship, the launch of the Zhengzhou-Helsinki air passenger route is really encouraging. Finland attaches great importance to cooperation with Henan and will soon lead a delegation of Finnish enterprises to it for the second time. It is believed that the new air passenger route will play a significant role in deepening bilateral cooperation.

肃海岚表示，今年正值芬中两国建交70周年，芬中两国之间新开航线的消息令人振奋。芬兰高度重视与河南本地企业的合作，近期将率领芬兰企业代表团再次造访河南，相信新航线的开通将对进一步深化双方合作起到重要作用。
