Henan Opera-themed Stamps to Be Released

Henan Opera will appear on the stamps! Such special stamps are scheduled to be launched on November 20, 2021 by China Post Group, according to its Henan Branch on November 28.

河南豫剧要上邮票了！11月28日，记者从中国邮政集团公司河南省分公司获悉，中国邮政集团已经把《豫剧》特种邮票正式列入2021年纪特邮票发行计划，预计2021年11月20日面市。

Henan Opera is one of the major genres of Chinese opera, along with the Peking Opera in Beijing, Yue Opera in Zhejiang, Huangmei Opera in Anhui and Ping Opera in Hebei. Special stamps of the Peking Opera's four roles, namely sheng (male role), dan (female role), jing (painted-face male role) and chou (male clown), and facial makeup have been released. Henan Opera will become the third one to appear on the stamps following the Huangmei Opera in 2014.

豫剧是中国五大戏曲剧种（京剧、豫剧、越剧、黄梅戏、评剧）之一。京剧已发行了生、旦、净、丑四大角色和京剧脸谱特种邮票，黄梅戏特种邮票于2014年发行。豫剧将成为中国五大戏曲剧种中第三个登上“国家名片”的剧种。

 

Recently, China Post Group has commenced the design of Henan Opera-themed stamps, and specially went to Henan for a survey.

日前，该集团有关部门已全面启动了《豫剧》特种邮票的编辑、设计工作，并专门赴河南进行调研论证。

 

It is worth noting that no matter how they will be presented to the public, the stamps will become a national symbol to not only promote Henan's history and culture, but also play a part in popularizing the stories of the Central Plains and boosting the development of the local economy and culture.

值得一提的是，无论最终3枚邮票以何种方式和内容呈现给大众，《豫剧》特种邮票都将成为宣传河南历史文化的又一张“国家名片”，在讲好中原故事、推动地方经济文化发展中发挥作用。（中文来源/河南日报 翻译/赵汉青 审校/张玉红）
