New China-Europe Freight Train Route Linking East Henan with Europe Launched

商丘首发中欧班列 打通豫东至欧洲铁路物流新通道

On the morning of December 22, with a long whistling, the first China-Europe freight train (Shangqiu-Zhengzhou-Europe) departed from the West Freight Yard of Shangqiu Station around 10 o'clock for Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan.

12月22日10时许，随着一声汽笛长鸣，中欧班列（商郑欧）国际班列从商丘车站西货场缓缓驶出，一路向西，向乌兹别克斯坦首都塔什干进发。据大河网记者了解，这是河南商丘开行的首趟中欧班列。

Composed of 35 containers, this train is fully loaded with products (worth $1.15 million) from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong and Henan (including Shangqiu and its surrounding areas), such as electronic products, raw materials for clothing, daily necessities, electromechanical equipment components, building materials, etc.

此列中欧班列（商郑欧）编组35个集装箱，装载有来自浙江、江苏、山东、河南及商丘周边地区的电子产品、服装原材料、日用品、机电设备元器件、建筑材料等货物，货值115万美元。

"After loading another 15 containers in Zhengzhou, this train will exit via Khorgos, pass through Kazakhstan and finally arrive at Tashkent," said Ma Wenjun, director of the freight workshop of Shangqiu Station.

“此次中欧班列，将在郑州编成50组集装箱后从霍尔果斯出境，途经哈萨克斯坦，最终到达乌兹别克斯坦塔什干。”商丘车站货运车间主任马文军介绍说。

Enjoying a favorable geographical location, Shangqiu is not only a gateway for Henan and an economic corridor on the broad Central Plains, but also a key city under the Belt and Road Initiative and a significant part of the "eight horizontal and eight vertical" high-speed railway network. The successful launch of China-Europe freight train (Shangqiu-Zhengzhou-Europe) marks the first cooperation between Zhengzhou and other prefecture-level cities across the province.

商丘区位位置优越，是河南省立足中原、辐射四方的交通要道和中原地区承东启西、连接南北的经济走廊，以及国家“一带一路”、“八纵八横”高铁网络和区域流通节点城市。此次中欧班列（商郑欧）国际班列的开行，首开中欧班列（郑州）和地市合作先河。

So far, China-Europe freight train (Zhengzhou) has formed a network covering more than 130 cities in over 30 countries in the European Union, Russia and Central Asia with more than 6,000 domestic and foreign partners. Besides, it has built an international multi-modal transport system featuring "six ports with eight stations". Among the 63 cities with China-Europe rail freight services, China-Europe freight train (Zhengzhou) has always ranked the forefront in China in terms of marketization process and its sustainability, as well as the "first phalanx" place due to its comprehensive operation capability.
