'Farewell to Poverty' Premieres in Lankao, Brings Audience to Tears

On February 26, the film Farewell to Poverty had its premiere in Lankao county of Henan province. The county's 3,000 poverty-alleviation cadres at the grassroots level, together with the front-line role models, watched the film adapted from their own stories.
2月26日，电影《千顷澄碧的时代》首映式在兰考县举行。该县3000名基层扶贫干部与一线扶贫标兵，第一时间观看了“自己的故事”。
The film Farewell to Poverty, an excellent piece of work on the central task of the Party and the state to achieve the goal of finishing building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, had been in preparation since February 2017. Headed by CCTV-6, the movie channel of China's state broadcaster, the film was co-produced by the Publicity Department of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee and the Publicity Department of the CPC Lankao County Committee.
电影《千顷澄碧的时代》从2017年2月开始策划、筹备，历时4年终于上映。影片由电影频道节目中心领衔出品，省委宣传部、兰考县委宣传部联合摄制，是配合“全面建成小康社会”这一党和国家的中心工作而打造的精品力作。
Based on Lankao's fight against poverty, the film tells the story of Lu Jingsheng, a young analyst who was sent to Lankao for poverty alleviation, where he encountered other poverty fighters such as Fan Zhongzhou, deputy secretary of the CPC Lankao County Committee, and Han Suyun, secretary of the CPC Sifang Township Committee of Lankao. Together they worked with locals for three years, lifting the county out of poverty. The film not only exhibits a brand-new image of an open, innovative and vibrant Lankao, as well as the spirit of loyalty, dedication and responsibility of Lankao cadres in modern times, but presents a group portrait of front-line figures in China's fight against poverty and depicts an all-round picture of the well-off society in China's rural areas.
《千顷澄碧的时代》取材于兰考县脱贫攻坚战，讲述了青年分析师芦靖生被派到兰考扶贫，与兰考县委副书记范中州、兰考四方乡党委书记韩素云等为代表的兰考干部相遇在脱贫攻坚一线，和群众一同奋战三年，让兰考县实现脱贫的故事。影片展现了一个开放、创新、生机勃勃的新兰考，以及新时代兰考干部忠诚、奉献、担当的精神，深情呈现了中国脱贫攻坚一线人物群像，全面描绘了新时代中国农村的小康画卷。
After the premiere, all the participants watched the film with high expectation. Sobbing heard from the audience stands made them seemingly go back on the battlefield of poverty alleviation. "As a member of the poverty alleviation team in Lankao, I'm deeply touched by every shot of it. I feel quite excited and proud," said Ma Bing, a poverty-relief cadre at Limen Village of Guying Town, Lankao.
首映式后，与会人员怀着激动的心情观看了该部电影，不时的抽泣声，让大家仿佛又回到了脱贫攻坚战场之上。“作为兰考县脱贫攻坚队伍中的一员，电影里的每一帧、每一个镜头都深深触及着我的灵魂，既心情激动，又满怀自豪。”兰考县谷营镇李门庄村驻村工作队员马冰说。（中文来源/河南日报 翻译/赵汉青 实习生/黄骞婷 审校/丁岚）
