7th Population Census Data of Henan Released

河南省第七次全国人口普查主要数据公布

On May 14, a news briefing was held by the Information Office of the People's Government of Henan Province to release Henan's population data conducted by the 7th national census. By 0:00 on November 1, 2020, Henan registered a population (permanent resident population) of 99.366 million, accounting for 7.04 percent of the total population on the Chinese mainland, ranking 3rd nationwide. Compared with the total number of 94.024 million people shown by 2010 China Population Report, 5.342 million people were newly added in Henan with an increase of 5.68 percent and an annual growth rate of 0.55 percent, 0.3 and 0.02 percentage points higher than the national average respectively.

5月14日，省政府新闻办举行新闻发布会，公布我省第七次全国人口普查主要数据情况。截至2020年11月1日零时，全省常住人口共9936.6万人，占全国人口的7.04%，位居全国第三。与2010年第六次全国人口普查的9402.4万人相比，增加534.2万人，增长5.68%，年均增长0.55%，分别高出全国0.3个和0.02个百分点。

"It indicates that the population of Henan has grown steadily over the past 10 years," said Chen Hongyu, director of Henan Statistics Bureau and deputy head of the Leading Group for the 7th National Population Census of Henan Province.
