Full 5G Network Coverage Realized in All Urban Areas above County Level in Henan at End of April

On May 17, the 2021 World Telecommunication and Information Society Day kicked off in Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan province, with the theme of "Accelerating Digital Transformation in Challenging Times". Representatives from government departments, associations, telecom and ICT sectors exchanged opinions on a series of hot topics, including 5G, industrial internet, gigabit optical network, energy internet, cloud-network integration, etc., exploring new ways for digital transformation.

5月17日，2021世界电信和信息社会日在郑州开幕，大会以“在充满挑战的时代加速数字化转型”为主题，政府主管部门、行业协会、电信运营商以及ICT业界代表围绕5G、工业互联网、千兆光网、能源互联网、云网融合等热门话题展开讨论，为数字化转型探寻新路。

Henan, the venue of the event, has developed rapidly in digital economy with continuously enhanced infrastructure, further consolidated status as a communication network hub and prosperous industrial ecology. Particularly in regard to 5G network construction and application, Henan has planned ahead by formulating a model in which "demand leads supply and supply creates demand". By the end of April, 46.7 thousand 5G base stations had been built in Henan, covering all its urban areas above the county level. A sound network infrastructure is bound to provide solid support for such new business forms across the province as intelligent manufacturing, Internet of Vehicles and telemedicine.

作为本次大会的承办地，河南省数字经济近年来取得了快速进步，基础能力持续提升，通信网络枢纽地位不断巩固，产业生态蓬勃发展。特别是在5G网络建设和应用上，河南省超前谋划，构建“需求牵引供给、供给创造需求”的5G发展模式。截至4月底，全省已开通5G基站4.67万个，实现了县城以上城区5G网络全覆盖。良好的网络基础为发展智能制造、车联网、远程医疗等新业态提供了坚实支撑。（中文来源/河南日报 翻译/赵汉青 审校/张军平）
