Henan Embraces Large-scale Mechanized Harvest of Wheat

丰收在望！河南省小麦迎来大规模机收

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Henan Province on May 31, by 5 pm that day, 8.03 million mu (1 mu equals to 0.067 hectares) of wheat have been harvested in Central China's Henan province, exceeding 5 million mu, marking the commencement of large-scale mechanized harvest of Henan's more than 85 million mu of wheat.

5月31日，记者从省农业农村厅获悉，截至当天17时，我省已收获小麦803万亩，突破500万亩的大规模机收临界值，标志着我省8500多万亩小麦迎来大规模机收。

Specifically, Zhengzhou has reaped 950 thousand mu of wheat, while Xinyang 1.89 million mu, Luoyang 867 thousand mu, Pingdingshan 587 thousand mu, Nanyang 1.84 million mu, Zhumadian 1.28 million mu, Xuchang 350 thousand mu.

其中，郑州收获了95万亩，信阳收获了189万亩，洛阳收获了86.7万亩，平顶山收获了58.7万亩，南阳收获了184万亩，驻马店收获了128万亩，许昌收获了35万亩。

To fully meet the harvest demands, more than 4.10 million pieces (sets) of agricultural machinery will be put into operation in this summer, including more than 190 thousand combine harvesters, said a source from the Agricultural Machinery Management Office of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Henan Province. Besides, with a mechanized harvest rate of wheat stabilizing at more than 98 percent and a mechanized growing rate of maize exceeding 93 percent, Henan strives to lay a solid foundation for its annual grain harvest by coordinating summer harvest with autumn planting.

省农业农村厅农机管理处相关负责人表示，今年“三夏”，全省计划投入各类农业机械410万台（套）以上，其中联合收割机19万台以上，完全能够满足生产需要；小麦机收率稳定在98%以上，玉米机播水平达93%以上，努力实现夏收秋种同步进行，为全年粮食丰收奠定基础。（中文来源/河南日报 翻译/赵汉青 审校/张军平）
