Henan's Increase of Days with Good or Excellent Air Quality Ranks First in China in 2020

河南环保成绩单公布 去年优良天数增幅全国第一

On June 2, the Department of Ecology and Environment of Henan Province released the Bulletin on Ecological Environment of Henan Province in 2020, showing that a total of 245 days with good or excellent air quality were monitored in Henan (except Jiyuan Industry-City Integration Demonstration Zone) last year, 52 days more than the same period in 2019, ranking 1st in China in terms of the increase rate.

6月2日，省生态环境厅召开2021年“六五”环境日主场宣传活动，发布《2020年河南省生态环境状况公报》。2020年，全省环境空气质量优良天数为245天（不含济源示范区），同比增加52天，增加幅度位居全国第一。

According to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China, both the environment and water qualities in Henan were evaluated as "excellent" in 2020 with its prevention and control of soil pollution standing at the forefront. Besides, Henan also completed its 3-year tasks of battling against pollution.

经生态环境部认定，2020年河南省空气环境质量、水环境质量综合评价结果均为“优”，土壤污染防治走在全国前列，圆满完成污染防治攻坚战三年行动计划目标任务。

In Henan, haze days decreased sharply in number in 2020 with 45.6 such days on average, 27.7 days less than the figure of the past 7 years and the lowest since 2013.

公众关心的雾霾天数大为减少，空气质量明显改善。2020年全省平均霾日数为45.6天，较近7年平均值偏少27.7天，较2019年偏少14.7天，为2013年以来最少值。

Rivers in Henan were slightly polluted in 2020, among which both the Huaihe River and the Haihe River were of light pollution, while the water quality of the Yellow River was good and that of the Yangtze River excellent. Besides, the water quality of both the Taocha Canal Headworks of the Danjiangkou Reservoir and the main canal (Henan section) of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's central route always maintained the standard of China's Environmental Quality Standard for Surface Water (Type II) and above. Meanwhile, the soil environment quality across the province remained stable last year, with the safety utilization rate of both contaminated farmland and construction land reaching 100 percent.

全省河流水质级别为轻度污染。其中：省辖淮河流域、海河流域为轻度污染，黄河流域为良好，长江流域为优。南水北调中线工程水源地丹江口水库陶岔取水口及总干渠（河南段）水质持续达到Ⅱ类及以上标准。全省土壤环境质量保持稳定，受污染耕地安全利用率实现100%，建设用地污染地块安全利用率实现100%。

In 2020, groundwater in Henan's urban areas was of fine quality, among which Xuchang was excellent, while Hebi and other 10 cities were good.

全省城市地下水质量较好。其中，许昌市地下水水质级别为优；鹤壁、漯河、南阳、郑州、三门峡、平顶山、周口、焦作、洛阳、驻马店和新乡等11个城市为良好。（中文来源/河南日报 翻译/魏蔚 审校/李文竞）
