A New Wheat Variety Developed by a Farmer from Baofeng in Henan Gains National Approval
宝丰农民培育小麦新品种通过国家审定
Good news comes from the Institute of Agricultural Sciences of Baofeng County in Pingdingshan City, Central China's Henan Province on June 2 -- "Hangyu 19" ("航宇19"), a new variety of wheat developed by Chang Tianyou from the County's Xiaoqi Village within 8 years, has been approved by the National Evaluation Committee of Crop Variety.
6月2日,从宝丰县农科所传来好消息,该县肖旗乡农民常天佑历经八年培育出的小麦新品种“航宇19”,已通过国家农作物品种审定委员会审定。

Featuring good resistance to adverse conditions, high yield and highly commercialized with outstanding performance on the fields, the variety of "Hangyu 19", developed based on the "descendants" of the wheat seeds from the Shenzhou-10 spacecraft, has been piloted in more than 200 places in Henan and neighboring provinces, with an average yield of more than 1,300 jin (1 jin equals to 0.5 kg) per mu (1 mu equals to 0.067 hectares).
据介绍,“航宇19”小麦新品种是在搭载“神舟十号”飞船的小麦种子后代基础上培育的,抗性好、产量高、商品性好、大田表现突出,已经在河南及周边省份的200多个地方试种,平均亩产大多在1300斤以上。(中文来源/河南日报 翻译/赵汉青 审校/陈行洁)
