China Unveils 5th Batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritages, 12 Items in Henan Included

第五批国家级非遗名录公布 河南省逍遥胡辣汤制作技艺等12项入选

On June 10, the State Council released the 5th batch of national intangible cultural heritages identified by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, 12 items in Henan included, covering folk literature, quyi (folk art forms including ballad singing, storytelling, cross-talk and clapper talks), traditional fine art, techniques and medicine, folk customs, etc.

6月10日，国务院公布文化和旅游部确定的第五批国家级非遗代表性项目名录，我省12项非遗入选，涉及民间文学、曲艺、传统美术、传统技艺、传统医药、民俗等多个类别。

Now, Henan, with 125 national-level intangible cultural heritages and 728 provincial-level ones, has 3 items included on the UNESCO's representative list of the intangible cultural heritages of humanity.

截至目前，我省拥有人类非遗代表作名录项目3个，国家级非遗代表性项目125个，省级非遗代表性项目728个。

The items included this time are: 7 national-level intangible cultural heritages, namely one folk literature (Legend of Xuanzang, a monk of the Tang Dynasty), one quyi performance (Luogushu, a Shanzhou-style ballad story-telling performance), one traditional Chinese fine art (pyrograph in Nanyang), three traditional techniques -- Lushan kiln firing technique (Lushan flora-design porcelain firing technique), jade inlaid with metal making technique (making technique of Jiaxian-style jade inlaid with such metal as gold, silver, copper, etc.) and snack making technique (Hulatang or hot pepper soup making technique in Xiaoyao town), and one folk activity (memorial ceremony for Laozi, a philosopher in the sixth-century BC), and 5 on the expanded directory, including one magic (Baofeng-style magic), temple fair at Fire God Tower in Shangqiu, two TCM methods for diagnosis and treatment (Zhang-style meridians & collaterals treatment and Song-style TCM surgical treatment ) and one related to 24 Chinese solar terms (whipping the spring ox made of earth or paper to celebrate the Beginning of Spring, one solar term, in Neixiang).

此次入选项目有：民间文学（玄奘传说）、曲艺（陕州锣鼓书）、传统美术（南阳烙画），传统技艺类的鲁山窑烧制技艺（鲁山花瓷烧制技艺）、金镶玉制作技艺（郏县金镶玉制作技艺）、小吃制作技艺（逍遥胡辣汤制作技艺），民俗（老子祭典）等7项入选国家级非遗代表性项目名录；幻术（宝丰魔术）、商丘火神台庙会、中医诊疗法（张氏经络收放疗法）（宋氏中医外科疗法）、农历二十四节气（内乡打春牛习俗）等5项入选国家级非遗代表性项目名录扩展项目名录。

In recent years, both the national and local governments have attached great importance to the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritages and carried out a series of measures related to policies, funds and laws. In this context, Henan has also adopted diversified measures to protect intangible cultural heritages and made great achievements.
