'Ma Liang' in Real Life and His 'Fairy-tale World'

河南辉县：“神笔马良”与他的“童话世界”

 

These paintings on the wall belong not to an urban art park, but to Xiaotun, a small village in Huixian county, Henan province.

这些图画，不是城市里的艺术园区，而是河南新乡辉县的一个小山村——小屯村。

Such vivid paintings have turned Xiaotun village, with only more than 1 thousand residents, into an online "celebrity", with more than 400 million views gained.

这些充满童趣的墙绘作品，让这个只有一千多人的豫北村庄在网络上收获了4亿多点击量，成为了当地的网红打卡点。

All of them are drawn by Shang Qinjie, who was born in the 1990s. The local people call him "Ma Liang" (a master painter in Chinese folktale Ma Liang with a Magic Brush).

这些墙画，都出自一位90后小伙之手，他叫尚勤杰。村子里的人现在都叫他“神笔马良”。

Now, let's take a snap at Xiaotun village. Entering Xiaotun village, visitors are immediately attracted by the idyllic rural scenery, romantic cartoon characters, fashionable Chinese-brand symbols, etc., on the wall.

下面，就让我们跟随记者的镜头，赶快去小屯村去欣赏一下这些浪漫而有趣的画作。清新的田园牧歌，浪漫的动漫人物，时尚的国潮符号，走进小屯村，一幅幅色彩斑斓的墙画映入眼帘，吸引着游人驻足观赏。

Xiaotun village is so small that one can go around it in half an hour. In the past, the village had nothing special. Now, with such paintings on the wall, it has become more popular. During the Spring Festival this year, the village received nearly 10 thousand visitors.

小屯村不大，半个小时就能逛完，过去，这里就是一个普普通通的村庄，而随着一幅幅画跃然墙上，小屯村的名气越来越大，今年春节期间，村里曾在一天内接待了近万名游客。

 

Shang has recorded his works and posted them on the internet, attracting many fans. In May, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying gave a thumbs-up to him on the Twitter, introducing this colorful village to the world.

尚勤杰记录下了自己在小屯村的工作经历，把作画的视频发到了网络，得到了很多人的关注。今年五月，中国外交部发言人华春莹发文称赞尚勤杰，向全世界推介这个充满童趣色彩的小村庄。

 

With a prospective development plan and numerous diligent people, the once unknown village has become well-known and rich. Facing his popularity, Shang said that what he wants to do now is to continuously improve his painting skills and create more original works. In the future, he also wants to paint in more villages and to decorate the new outlook of China's rural areas with more paintings.

凭借村里清晰的规划，和一双双巧手。本来默默无闻的小村子“火”了起来、也富了起来。而面对突如其来的关注，尚勤杰说，他现在更想做的是好好沉淀自己，提升绘画的技艺，创作出更多原创作品。未来，他还想在河南以及其他的村庄，留下更多自己的作品，用更多的“美好”去装扮中国乡村的新面貌。（中文来源/河南日报 翻译/魏蔚 审校/张玉红）
