Around 6 pm on July 20, a bus running on the Longhai Road in Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan province, was swept out to the front gate of China Railway Zhengzhou Bureau Group by floods triggered by torrential rain, causing flameout.

7月20日18时左右，一辆行驶在陇海路上的公交车，被大水冲至中国铁路郑州局机关大门口附近，车辆熄火。

As night fell, dozens of passengers waited anxiously for help. However, traffic jams caused by torrential rain throughout Zhengzhou prevented professional rescuers from reaching the site timely.

夜幕逐渐降临，几十名乘客焦急等待救援。而此刻，郑州市全城交通不畅，专业救援人员无法及时赶到现场。

At the critical moment, security staff on duty found the danger and reported it to the Group at once. In no time a number of staff rushed to the scene for the rescue.

正当车上被困人员将要面临危险的时候，郑州局机关门口执勤的保安发现了险情并迅速上报，多名机关工作人员立即联手展开救援。

Meanwhile, the bus was trapped in about 1.7 meters of water, with 2 drivers and 38 passengers, among whom were 20 males, 15 females (1 pregnant) and 3 children. Staff Zhang Xinghui and Zhang Xincheng swam to the bus quickly, but failed in their first attempt due to the strong current.

当时，被困公交车所在位置水深约1.7米，车上有公交司机2人，乘客38人，其中20名男乘客，15名女乘客（1名孕妇），3名儿童。铁路工作人员张星汇、张新成迅速游到被困群众处实施救援，但由于水流太急站不稳，第一次救援失败。

Then, Zhang Xincheng stayed with the trapped passengers on the bus while Zhang Xinghui swam back to look for a rope. Rescue gear was set up with 4 fire hoses with the help of another staff Yang Ran.

紧接着，张新成留在车上安抚被困群众，张星汇游回到机关寻找绳子，在另一名机关工作人员杨冉帮助下，用四条消防用水带设置好了救援装置。

Finally, with the joint efforts of staff Zhu Yan, Xue Wenxi, Zhang Wen, Zhao jingjing and security personnel who stabilized the fire hoses, the rescue went smoothly.

此时，另几位工作人员朱岩、薛文熙、张文、赵晶晶和保安师傅共同努力，稳定住了水带，确保了救援顺利进行。

After about 2 hours, the trapped people were finally rescued. What's more, the rescue staff spared no effort to bring clothing, warm water and food to the passengers for their recovery and to prepare lodging for whoever far from home so that they could stay overnight.

整个救人过程持续近两小时，20时左右救援成功。之后，参与救援的机关工作人员又热情照顾得救乘客，准备了衣被、热水、食品等让大家恢复体力，并为离家远的乘客找住处过夜。

At almost the same time, another rescue team was dispatched.

几乎在这一场救援开始同时，郑州局公司大院内也出动了另一支救援队伍。

At 6:08 pm on July 20, a family of three were found trapped in front of the east gate of the Group. The father and daughter were choking seriously, while the mother was asking for help. Working in the Group, doctor Wang Yanqiang with two nurses Liu Xin and Wu Lisi from the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University rushed to the site.

7月20日18时08分，在郑州局集团公司东门口处路上有一家三口遭遇溺水，父亲、女儿呛水严重，母亲跪地求人施救。在机关院内工作的郑大五附院医生王燕强，护士刘欣、吴丽思，火速前往救援。

Due to the torrential rain, nurse Liu Xin's mobile phone fell into the water accidentally, but she cried as she ran, "It is vital to save the trapped people. New mobile phones can be bought at any time, but people's lives can't!" Taken to the safe place quickly, they finally survived the floods.

因水势凶猛，护士刘欣手机不慎落水，她跑着喊着：“救人要紧，手机可以再换，人不能！”他们迅速将溺水人背进室内抢救，确保了三人顺利获救。

This natural disaster, great and unexpected, makes people understand what indeed a hero is. Let's give a thumbs-up to those CPC members risking their lives to save others at the critical moment and salute to those railway staff for their bravery.
