Renmin Road Witnesses the Prosperity of Downtown Zhongmu

家乡的人民路丨中牟县人民路：见证老城繁华 阅尽人间烟火

In the downtown area of Zhongmu county of Zhengzhou city, Henan province, lies a south-north Renmin Road. Although the road is only 2 kilometers long, it has witnessed the development of the county.

中牟县人民路位于老城区，南北长两公里，虽是一条不大的街道，但却在中牟的发展中历尽繁华。

Apart from residential communities and kindergartens, about 459 shops are located on both sides of the Renmin Road with several popular food stalls.

人民路两侧有居民小区、菜市场、幼儿园、药店、超市、饭店、服装店、宾馆等商户459家，到了夜晚，几家大排档的生意尤其火爆，可谓门庭若市。

Started in 2019, the maintenance of the Renmin Road was not finished until the first half of 2021 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. "We have not only demolished illegal buildings on both sides of the Renmin Road within our jurisdiction, but also improved environmental sanitation with the idea of elaborate management of urban areas, to create a favorable living and working environment for more than 20 thousand local residents," said Han Lili, a member of Minzhujie Village Party Committee of Qingnian Road Sub-district Office.

2019年，人民路进行大修，后来受疫情影响而停工，直到今年上半年才完工。青年路街道民主街村党委委员韩丽丽说，“我们对辖区管段两侧的违建进行了拆除，结合城市精细化管理，加强环境卫生维护，为两万多常住人口创造宜居宜业的良好氛围。”

The South Renmin Road, where residential communities, primary schools and parks are newly built, is usually seen as an upgraded version of the North Renmin Road because of its tranquility.

人民路南段被视为2.0升级版，这里有新建的居民安置小区、小学、街角口袋公园，比起北段更多了一些静谧。

"Living here is very convenient, with almost all the daily necessities available along this road. I've been living here for decades. Sometimes it's crowded and noisy, but that's life. As a popular saying goes, trivial and mundane things spice up one's life." A middle-aged man who runs a grocery store told dahe.cn.

“生活在这边很方便，日常所需一应俱全，基本不出这条路就能买齐生活必需品，俺在这儿住了几十年了，有时候虽然也会拥堵、也有喧闹，但这就是生活，正是现在所说的烟火气啊！”一名开日杂店的中年人说。（中文来源/大河网 翻译/魏蔚 审校/白玉杰 赵汉青）
