Major Projects of Global Fortune 500 Enterprises Launched in Henan in H1

上半年一批世界500强企业重点外资项目落户河南

In the first half of 2021, Henan achieved a year-on-year increase in both the number of newly-established overseas-funded enterprises and the actual absorption of foreign capital by the backups of key overseas-funded enterprises and their major projects, and by means of investment attraction methods innovating, policy implementation emphasizing and foreign investment service system perfecting, according to a video teleconference held by the Department of Commerce of Henan Province on August 16. Statistically, during the January-June period, a total of 150 newly-established overseas-funded enterprises registered in Henan with a year-on-year increase of 47.1 percent. Besides, its new contractual foreign investment and actual absorption of foreign capital totaled 3.12 billion US dollars and 10.83 billion US dollars respectively, with each increasing 307 percent and 8 percent from a year earlier.

8月16日，河南省商务厅召开全省商务工作年中电视电话会。记者从会上获悉，今年上半年，面对复杂多变的国内外形势，河南紧盯重点外资企业、重大外资项目，创新招商方式、强化政策落实、完善服务体系，实现新设外资企业和实际吸收外资同比双增长。其中，全省新设立外资企业150家，与去年同期相比增长47.1%；新增合同外资31.2亿美元，同比增长307%；实际吸收外资108.3亿美元，同比增长8%。

A total of 24 newly-established overseas-funded enterprises - each with an investment volume of over 10 million US dollars - registered in Henan from January to June with a total investment volume of 2.87 billion US dollars, according to Ma Jian, director-general of the Department of Commerce of Henan Province. It is worth noting that a group of major projects invested by foreign enterprises on the Fortune 500 list were successfully signed, implemented, under construction or put into operation. For example, the solid waste treatment project of Nippon Paint (Singapore) with an investment volume of 550 million RMB yuan in Kaifeng and the egg farm project of Chia Tai Group (Thailand) with an investment volume of 100 million RMB yuan in Luohe were signed. Besides, China Resources Group (China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) kept expanding its investment in Henan with 2 enterprises newly set up at Xinyang and Xinxiang, 9 under construction and 37.29 million US dollars in place.

河南省商务厅厅长马健介绍，上半年，全省新设立投资额1000万美元以上外资企业24家，投资总额28.7亿美元。特别是一批世界500强企业重点外资项目在豫顺利签约、落地、开工、投产。如新加坡立邦在开封兰考投资5.5亿元的固废处理项目、泰国正大在漯河投资1亿元的蛋鸡场建设项目正式签约；香港华润继续扩大在豫投资，在信阳、新乡新设2家外资企业，省内9家企业持续开工建设，到位资本金3729万美元。

Meanwhile, the Belt and Road countries' investment in Henan kept rising up. From January to June, Henan absorbed foreign capital from 45 countries (regions) worldwide, of which 28 set up new enterprises across the province. Besides, 8 Belt and Road countries also established 32 new enterprises, an increase of 100 percent year-on-year.

同时，“一带一路”沿线国家在我省投资规模加大。1月至6月，我省吸收外资涉及45个国家或地区。有28个国家或地区在我省新设外商投资企业。8个“一带一路”沿线国家在河南新设外资企业32家，同比增长100%。

In the future, Henan will further perfect its foreign investment service system, improve the supervision and incentive mechanism, and set up a project management platform, said Ma. Besides, in view of project-centered policy, Henan will also spare no efforts to promote contracts signing, projects implementation and construction to attract more quality resources from abroad for its high-level development.
