Xuchang

Located in central Henan, Xuchang administers 2 county-level cities, 2 counties and 2 districts and covers an area of 4,996 square kilometers with a permanent resident population of 4,379,998 (the 7th national census).

Xuchang has a long history and rich tourism resources. Every year, many tourists come to visit not only historic relics including Jun Royal Kiln Museum, key unit of cultural relics under state protection, which shows the history of Jun Porcelain, but the National Plant and Garden Expo Park and Huadu Hot Springs Resort in Yanling County as well. Xuchang has got the titles of "Town of the Three Kingdoms of China" "Hometown of Calyx Canthus Culture" and "Town of Porcelain Culture”.

Xuchang has been making all-out efforts to establish the modern industrial system and develop the economic clustering. Great progress has been made in ten industrial chains, among which the production scales of synthetic diamonds and wigs rank first in Asia and power equipment first in China. Central China Electric Valley, which is under construction, will be a core zone of power transmission and protection, wind power, photovoltaics and electrical manufacturing for civil use.

Xuchang Terminal of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport has been completed and open to passengers with a transport interchange. A fast and convenient transportation system consisting of expressways, high-speed railways and airport has initially taken shape there.

Xuchang has established the sister city relationship with Kinel of Russia, Bolingbrook of the USA, Smolyan City of Bulgaria and other two cities.
