Henan's Large-scale Harvest Work of Wheat to Start around May 28

河南小麦大规模机收将于5月28日前后展开

 

On May 23, a news conference was held by the Information Office of the People's Government of Henan Province to brief on work arrangements related to summer planting and harvesting.

Statistics show that the sown area of Henan's summer grain crops has remained above 85 million mu (1 mu equals about 666 square meters), which is basically the same as that of last year. The crops grow very well and foretell a good harvest this summer. Besides, 4 million agricultural machines will put into use, including 180 thousand combine harvesters and 800 thousand seeders. So far, all preparatory work has been basically completed. Large-scale harvest work will be launched around May 28.

记者了解到，今年以来，河南夏粮面积保持在8500万亩以上，与上年基本持平，当前长势良好，丰收在望。同时，河南计划投入各类农业机械400万台（套），其中联合收割机18万台、播种机80万台，保障小麦机收工作。目前，农机需求对接、机具检修维护和驾驶操作人员培训等各项准备工作已基本完成，全省大规模机收将于5月28日前后展开。（中文来源/大河网 记者/宋向乐 编译/赵汉青 审校/丁岚）
