Futuristic Techs Boost Henan's Wheat Storage Capacity

Large-scale harvest work of wheat in Central China's Henan province has been basically completed with the newly-produced wheat gradually "moving" to granaries. How to store them properly? To find the answer, we visited Xinglong National Grain Reserves in Zhengzhou, Henan.

河南今夏麦收基本结束，新收获的小麦陆续"入住"粮仓。如何让丰收成果颗粒归仓，确保粮食存储安全？大河网记者来到河南郑州兴隆国家粮食储备库（以下简称兴隆粮库），探访智慧粮仓的储粮“黑科技”。

 

Entering Xinglong, we saw that the top of each granary is coated with a layer of white paint. "The white paint can reflect more than 90 percent of the sunlight that hits it to keep the temperature in the granaries 5 to 7 degrees Celsius lower than the normal, and the temperature that we feel comfortable is also suitable for wheat storage," said staff Pei Yinglin.

走进库区，记者看到每个粮仓的顶部都涂有一层白色涂料。“这是仓顶镜面反射涂料，可以反射90%以上的太阳光，降低太阳光的直射，实现仓温较同等条件下低5~7℃。就粮仓内部的温度来说，我们人体感到舒适的温度，也是适宜粮食存储的温度。”兴隆粮库管理员裴颖璘说。

Rich fragrance of wheat greeted us when we entered the granaries. To keep the wheat in proper storage, Xinglong has installed some high-tech devices for pest trapping and detecting the concentration of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, phosphine and other gases. The temperature can be adjusted with the temperature control devices or nitrogen-based methods to prevent the wheat from pests and mildew and minimize the nutrition loss. "The rate of wheat loss has been controlled within 0.2 percent with the application of energy saving and consumption reduction technologies," said Pei.

走进粮仓内部，浓郁的麦香味便扑鼻而来。据介绍，为了确保粮食安全，粮仓内设置了害虫诱捕器，可以检测氧气、氮气、二氧化碳、磷化氢等气体的浓度，通过控温储粮、氮气储粮等措施，保证粮库温度，防止虫害、霉变，并且能最大限度“锁住”粮食的营养成分。“通过节能降耗技术的运用，粮食保管损耗可以控制在0.2%以内，可以说减少粮食产后损失就是建设无形良田。”裴颖璘说。

 

Every corner of the granaries is monitored. Hundreds of temperature-measuring points in each granary can monitor the temperature round the clock and send the real-time information directly to the staff.

记者在监控大屏前看到，库区的各个角落都在监控之下，360度无死角。每个仓房内都布置了测温的电缆线，规划设置有上百个测温点，可以全天候监测粮堆内部的温度情况，并且通过电子信息技术将数据直接传送至工作后台，实时监控粮仓内部的温度变化。
