Over 60,000 Forest Chiefs Supervise Forests and Grasslands in Henan

河南已设立6万余名五级林长

So far, Henan province has embraced more than 60,000 forest chiefs at the provincial, municipal, county and township levels, said a source from Henan Forestry Administration on July 4. The forest chief scheme is taking effect in Henan.

7月4日，记者从河南省林业局获悉，目前，河南共设五级林长6万余名，已经形成省市县乡村五级林长制体系。当前，河南林长制正在从全面建立向全面见效转变。

The forest chief scheme is aimed at protecting and developing forest and grassland resources, with principal leaders of local Party committees and governments assuming the role of forest chief in their areas of administration. Highlighting key and difficult tasks in the protection and development of forest and grassland resources, the scheme is to build a long-term responsibility system featuring the leadership of Party committees, joint responsibility of Party committees and governments, locality responsibility, collaboration among different government departments, full coverage of greenery, and treatment at the source.

据了解，林长制是以保护发展森林草原资源为目标，以压实地方党政领导干部责任为核心，以制度体系建设为保障，以监督考核为手段，构建由地方党委、政府主要领导担任林长，省、市、县、乡、村分级设立林(草)长，聚焦森林草原资源保护发展重点难点工作，实现党委领导、党政同责、属地负责、部门协同、全域覆盖、源头治理的长效责任体系。（中文来源/河南日报 记者/刘晓阳 编译/赵汉青 海报/王君艺 审校/张军平）
